This build was filmed for BBC1’s ‘Getting the builders in’. I designed and created a solution to a wasted storage problem by creating two bespoke shelving and cabinet units for the alcoves in this lounge. I used reclaimed materials which I sourced at Brighton Wood store. The client wanted the walls soundproofed – I used cork to do this and covered it in pallet cladding which I painted to match the theme in the house. The shelves then fixed to the walls either side of the cladding with angle iron so it did not interfere with the cladding on the rear wall. The shelf brackets match the cabinets with their angle iron edges. Reclaimed scaffold boards, pallet wood and angle iron were used to create this stylish alcove storage solution click here to enquire about your own commission.
