Boring box up-cycled into industrial mobile storage

    Project Description

I cannot believe I didn’t get a ‘before’ picture of this up-cycle! Seriously annoying, anyway this rather cool contemporary wheel-along storage started off life as a bog standard little brown wooden box. The lid hinges were falling off, there was no edging to the top, no handles, no wheels – it really was a sad state of affairs.

I found the box in the store in Glasgow while filming ‘Kirstie’s Fill Your House For Free’ series one in 2013. I was looking for unsuspecting items that were on the scrap heap, in need of some TLC & a new home. Everyone else had over looked the dull box, but I knew I could turn it into a useful piece of furniture that looked cool, was easy to move & could store all manner of bits & bobs!

I fixed the hinges, sanded the box, added the edging, painted it and attached wheels & handles.

I up-cycled this for Jude’s snug – watch the video to see me make the magic happen! 😉
