If you’ve ever tried making a lamp you will know there are various items you need to source for your DIY lamp to work correctly and safely – and they all have to match!
The Salvage Sister takes all the uncertainty out of buying lamp parts – she has spent a great deal of time perfecting all the lamp making parts in this kit, including the detailed step by step instructions so you can concentrate on making beautiful, safe lamps not getting very frustrated & giving up!

After being asked repeatedly over the years how to make a lamp safely I decided I had to source all the parts you need to make an awesome lamp and create an instruction manual because there were too many people to help with only one set of hands!
Technical Specification
Technical specification
All parts are made to British Standard 163 and are made with 3 cores for UK mains electricity – meaning they are earthed. When using metal lamp parts you must use a flex with three cores to avoid electric shock.
When you purchase your lamp kits you will also receive a step by step download guide with everything you need to know to make amazing lamps yourself at home. Kits are designed to be used by adults, anyone under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult.
Tools are not included – please see images for tools required.

Postage price is calculated automatically when you input your postcode at check out – if it does not recognise your area code or country please get in touch here.
Any item that is not handmade by me – ie; lamp kits, bottle cutters, lamp-parts will be shipped out within 24-48 hours as long as it is not showing ‘Available on Back Order’ where you select the colours.
If ‘Available on Back Order’ is shown – Your item will be posted out as soon as it arrives. We are waiting for a December shipment & will make sure you receive your item in time for Christmas.
Courier – Hermes usually 2-5 days
Postage for small items like lamp kits is £2.99 – for one or more lamp kits
Fully insured & tracked – you will receive a notification when it ships with the details.
Add ons
You can add-on lamp parts to your kit.
Choose from flex grips, fabric flex, hollow threaded rod & lampholder rings, read on for more info:
Flex grips are designed to hold lighting flex so there is no pressure put on the internal wiring components of your lamp-holder or ceiling rose when creating lighting which will hang rather than sit.
If you are ordering my ‘Turn Anything into a Lamp’ kit or ‘Bottle Lamp kit’ that come with a plug and switch and you want to hang your lamp in someway you should add a flex grip here. My jam jar kit & Pendant kits come with a flex grip.
Flex grips are supplied with a 10mm long M10 hollow threaded rod to attach it to your lampholder.
Hallow Threaded Rod means you can pass your lighting flex through it to secure to your lamp-holder. Sold in 120mm (12cm) lengths, if you add more than one I will supply in one continuous length – ie: order a quantity of 5 you will receive 600mm (60cm) in one length.
My lamp kits usually come with a piece of hollow threaded rod, length is dependant on the kit, please check this in the listing & order more here if you require it.
Lampholder rings are to secure lampshades or similar to our lampholders. Choose the colour you require below. You will receive 2 in your lamp kit if you order ‘Turn Anything into a Lamp kit’, ‘Jam jar lamp kit’, ‘Bottle Lamp kit’ or ‘pendant lamp kit’.
Glass Drill bits – These are used to drill glass, tile & ceramics. We use these on our bottle lamps
