The build
You will make a lamp or jam jar light from scratch, and take it home!
The lamp will have it’s own plug, switch, 2m of fabric flex, light fittings in your choice of colour and low energy vintage style bulb.
All lamp fittings, tools and PPE provided – just bring something to turn into a lamp!

You can contact The Salvage Sister to discuss the item you would like to turn into a lamp, if you are unsure which options you prefer.
All the lamp fittings you need to create your lamp will be provided on the day, including a low energy filament bulb.
The course price is for you to create one lamp or jam jar light, if you wish to make more than one you can purchase an extra lamp kit on the day.
You can now purchase gift cards for the amount of your choosing which the receiver can put towards any Salvage Sister product or workshop!

Spent a great afternoon with Charis Williams aka The Salvage Sister making an awesome lamp. Could not wire a plug to save my life before hand now she’s helped me wire a plug, a switch and a light! And I didn’t blow anything up!!!
Id definitely recommend a stop at her workshops as she made everyone feel so at ease. We had great laughs and came away with awesome lamps.

My friend Nicky and I attended the Lamp making workshop on Saturday 11 October 2025; the day was informative, interesting but also lots of fun. We both enjoyed everything about the day and also learnt lots. Big thank you to Charis and Jess for their patience and humour throughout the day.
