This industrial style Stag head wall art was handcrafted from a vintage Phillips bicycle
Inspiration
I created this trophy head sculpture from salvaged bike parts, I wanted to make a humane hunters trophy with wow-factor.
It was a commissions for Channel 4’s, ‘Old House New Home’ with George Clarke.
The brief was to create a piece of industrial style wall art from bike salvage to feature in the renovation of a period property into a sustainable home.
The production company initially asked for the handle bars and seat to become something reminiscent of a bulls head, however – I had seen this done quite a lot before & I really wanted to put my own spin on the piece and create something unique.
I would also reuse more of the push-bike this way, which I was pleased about. I was given creative control of the piece & the rest as they say, is history!
When you purchase this item I will source a bike and recreate this piece.
The purchase price listed is for labour and welding materials & equipment only – NOT the bike.
Depending upon your requirements, & whether you require a vintage bike, or would be happy with a newer model.
You can either;
- Purchase the bike and send it to me,
- Or I can purchase the bike for you after agreeing the style/era/budget
- Or ask if I can salvage a free scrap bike if the age/style is not specified.
You will be invoiced for the cost of the bike (see above) and any delivery after this has been specified by you.
(The vintage bike used for this build was £100 including postage, they tend to be around £75 just for the bike if you require it to be vintage. If you’re not in a hurry sometimes you can get lucky!)

Created as a wall hung installation on custom made plaque.
Plaque – made from reclaimed wood, routered, sanded, stained and waxed.
Stag structure created from Vintage Bicycle wheel rim, spokes, seat, handlebars, forks and break levers, cut to size, ground and TIG welded.
Custom fittings – hand made.
Can be left rustic and vintage style or polished per your requirements.
